2025 Ford Explorer

Ford's 2025 Explorer lineup consists of four trims. The Active includes 18-inch Sparkle Silver-painted wheels, LED taillamps, and heated glass mirrors. Larger 20-inch Ebony machined-painted aluminum wheels are standard on the ST-Line trim, as well as LED signature lighting and an "EXPLORER" badge on the hood. The ST variant comes with 21-inch Magnetite-painted aluminum wheels and red brake calipers that peek through the spokes. The Platinum trim includes adaptive headlamps, a Satin Chrome and Ebony grille, and Satin roof rack rails.

There are two engine options. The Active, ST-Line, and Platinum trims are powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that provides 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Included with the ST and optional on the Platinum trim is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that delivers 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. All Explorer models use a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, and all-wheel drive is available for extra traction.

The 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine has a 0-to-60 mph sprint time of 6 seconds, and the twin-turbo engine covers the same distance in just 5.1 seconds. The Explorer offers excellent handling on all surfaces with its Terrain Management System for great control in cities and on rough paths. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds and comes standard with the Class III Trailer Tow package.

The Explorer's spacious interior seats up to seven passengers with trizone electronic automatic temperature control included on all trims. New soft-touch materials and refined color schemes enhance the cabin’s premium feel. Cargo space remains generous, with 16.3 cubic feet behind the third row and up to 85.8 cubic feet with both rear rows folded.
Tech-forward trims include a wireless charging pad, a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a universal garage door opener. Optional features like a panoramic sunroof with power shade, floor liners for every row, and configurable cargo organizers add functional luxury.

The 2025 Ford Explorer includes Co-Pilot360 Assist+ across all models. This bundle includes collision warnings, automatic braking, lane departure alerts, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping help to keep passengers safe. ST-Line and Platinum trims feature Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0, which adds a 360-degree camera and parking sensors. Select trims offer the BlueCruise hands-free highway system, which enables hands-free driving on most North American highways.
